Ok, If you are having trouble finding and taking down Lynels in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, You have come to the right place. I will tell you different ways of taking down Lynels with different wepons.
First up is locating them
Here is 2 pictures where Silver Lynels are located. the Stars on the map show their locations.

Next up is the first strike

You may want to Paraglide down right behind them and mount them (Mount option instead of sneak-strike) and hit them over and over until it bucks you off. Or you can just sneak up behind it with the Sheika armor equipped.

Hopping on the back of a Lynel can do some massive damage right off the get go. Now you are staring him in the face and don't know what to do: Now you need to stay Locked on to him using the Targeting system, He will swing his Weapon at you and you need to do a back-flip, ( if the Lynel is using a sword and shield you need to do 3 consecutive back-flips to ensure a flurry attack, he will do this multiple times in a row, just back-flip like crazy and get those flurry hits in.

After a bit he will do one of 2 things, he will back up and start getting a fireball ready, in wich case if you are proficient with a bow, you need to shoot him in his face quickly; causing him to be stunned and you need to rush to his back and mount him again.

If you miss you need to run to the left or right and keep moving because he will shoot 3 consecutive fireballs

Now like i said a second ago, he would do one out of 2 things. This is where it gets tricky, he will shout at the top of his lungs. you need to either GET OUT OF THERE FAST, or quickly shoot him in the face with a bow, else BOOM there goes most your health.

If you are proficient with the bow and have a good amount of arrows, Lynels will be a cakewalk. shoot them over and over again in the face, mount them slash them jump off and slow-motion shoot them twice again before you fall to the ground again.

If you are not very good with a bow,
IF you miss a lot and can't seem to hit the Lynel in the head with your bow, then go back to my first instructions to use tons of flurry rushes. i wasn't very good with my dodge times at first, but once you memorize their movement patterns then you can predict if the Lynel is going to do his 3 swing combo, just keep doing back-flips and eventually you will beat the Lynel.

The sword wielding Lynels and the Spear Wielding ones are practically the same, just a few different combos. what you need to be wary of are the ones with large two-handed weapons. even with full gear they can 1-shot you. For these Lynels i would advise not fighting them if you are not Proficient with the bow. These monstrous Lynels with Large wepons are a pain in my book. you can kill them with ease if you shoot him with lots of arrows and mount him over and over, however his two-handed attacks land fairly quickly and it is hard to dodge out of the way, look below...

(Was only hit once and left with a quarter of a heart + knock-back) Since i usually do Back-flips these overhanded hits can be devastating, even if you manage to dodge to one side there is a small AOE where the hammer hits the ground. I advise loosing your fury in a barrage of arrows to its Face.

When they die they drop tons of shock arrows so don't worry about over using them.
And that about wraps it up, I wanted to let those who had some trouble with Lynels get a headstart to winning in their own playstyle, i prefer sword and sheild combo for them because i can swing fast and block if i mess up my dodge, but i two-handed wepons are also quite effective.
